A list for dogs and their humans. Portland has the nation’s highest dog park per capita with a total of 33 in the city! This list will have some of those, as well as eateries, and other outings for you and your furry friend.

      A few hours away from Portland, the Oregon coast. A not to be missed region of that states if you are in the area. It is worth it to explore up and down the coast, but this is the most famous beach. Does your dog love sun and surf? If so, this is their place.

      You could throw a rock and hit a dog-friendly hotel in Portland, no just kidding that's not true, but there are a lot to choose from. This is nicer than your average stay, but not too expensive and central in town. Others that come to mind are McMenamins, Staypineapple at the Rose Hotel, Kimpton Hotel Monaco, and The Sentinel.

      This area is for the dogs you can really trust to stay around you, it is not fenced in. Additionally, there are side trails that lead down the bluffs on the other side. Now that we got that out of the way, this is a hidden gem for sunsets and just a really great place to see the river and Forest Park across the way.

      A large, robust park area for dogs who have the zoomies. This area is not fenced in and you need to supply your own water, but it is a great place to get those big runs.

      Another heavily shaded park with 1.5 acres to run around in and be friendly with other furry friends! Yay!

      A more standard dog park, but it has three designated areas which can feel good for owners who feel a bit nervous and are maybe new to socializing their animal.

      Gabriel Park is one of the largest parks in the city. Thee park has a spacious 1.5-acre off-leash dog area that is completely fenced in. Amenities include fresh water, doggie bags and picnic tables. You are surrounded by forest and there is plenty of shade.

      This dog park has walking trails, pavement, grass, and wood chips for their paws, as well as benches for yours. There are plenty of fountains to keep your doggo hydrated, a must!

      A very clean park with wood chips, so no dust or mud to contend with. This can be a big perk in a city with so much drought and than rain.

      A new wine bar that focuses on wineries that have humanitarian and ecological causes in mind. While you sip on wine, dog can chew on toys available at the bar, or snack on some of the shop’s treats made by owner Jenn Lyons.

      This is a very special park because it works to acknowledge not all dogs are extroverts. There is an enclosed section for quiet, shy dogs as well as an area for more hyper, want to get to know you pups.

      This has a sparse, mostly enclosed patio so not a lot your dog could get into or chew up. Every time I was here there was a furry friend hanging out under the tables, patiently waiting for their parent to finish their gabbing so they could go.

      Dogs are not only encouraged here, they are spoiled. You can feed them their little dog dinner of chicken and sweet potatoes, as well as if they're lucky, a dog dessert of bananas, peanut butter, and yogurt
