  Bear Den is another popular trail in the Lake Placid area. It's a bit shorter at 3 and a half miles total, but it is a great option for any season. If you visit in the winter be sure to have snow shoes or spikes in case of ice and heavy snow. Once you reach the top take a break and watch the skiers and snowboarders over at Whiteface Mountain.

  Little Whiteface Mountain is a pretty popular out and back trail that starts at the Whiteface Base Lodge. It's a good distance, only about 4 and a half miles with great views of Lake Placid and the surrounding High Peaks at the top.

  This is a lightly trafficked out and back trail towards the northern part of Lake George. This hike is not too strenuous and ends at a nice pond where you can sit and have a snack.
